Two wins for Audi crews at ADAC GT Masters meeting at Sachsenring
Two Audi crews took victories at ADAC GT Masters meeting at Sachsenring, in the sixth round of the 2018 season.
The brothers Kelvin van der Linde and Sheldon van der Linde (#28 Montaplayt by Land Motorsport Audi R8 LMS) inherited Race 1 victory after a disqualification of KÜS Team75 Bernhard crew (Timo Bernhard, Kevin Estre) that initially won a race after starting from pole.
In the second race, full of accidents, a good pit stop strategy resulted with a maiden ADAC GT victory of Pierre Kaffer and Elia Erhart in the #11 EFP by TECE Audi R8 LMS, who started 26th on the grid.
Van der Linde brothers recorded their first win of the season in the German-based GT competition ahead of two crews of other two German manufacturers. Kim Luis Schramm and Nicolai Sylvest finished second in the #20 Zakspeed Mercedes-AMG GT3, ahead of Mikkel Jensen and Timo Scheider in the #42 Schnitzer BMW M6 GT3.
In the second race, interrupted by several Safety Car interventions, Pierre Kaffer and Elia Erhart made a fantastic progress from P26 on the grid to take their first win in the #11 Audi. Van der Linde brothers finished in the second place, ahead of one more Audi crew of Mücke Motorsport in the #26 car – Stefan Mücke and Jeffrey Schmidt.
Mathieu Jaminet and Robert Renauer finished fourth in Sunday’s race in the #99 Precote Herberth Motorsport’s Porsche 911 GT3 R to take the lead in the championship after twelve races.
