Trophee Andros: Historic victory for electric car in Elite Pro class
The 2018-2019 Trophee Andros ice racing championship has been kicked off this weekend at Val Thorens. The event was marked by a historic victory of an electric car in the Elite Pro class but also by a cancelation of the second race on Sunday due to a bad weather.
Aurelien Panis has won the race on Saturday in the #31 Plastic’up electric car, beating Olivier Pernaut in Sainteloc Racing’s #3 Mazda 3 and Franck Lagorce in the #30 Andros Sport electric car.
“I’m really happy this first day at Val Thorens, I did not expect to be so well placed, we won the heats, the Super Pole and Race 1. The Saintéloc Racing team did a job extraordinary, we hope to continue this momentum,” Aurelien Panis said on Saturday. The day after, the racing programme has been cancelled due to a blizzard.
