Antonio Felix da Costa opens the Formula E Season Five with a victory

The Portuguese driver Antonio Felix da Costa (BMW i Andretti Motorsport) wins the Ad Diriyah ePrix in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the opening round of the fifth Formula E Championship season. It’s his second Formula E victory in a career, the first he gained in 2015 in Argentina.

Da Costa started the race from pole position and converted it into a victory ahead of reigning FE champion Jean-Eric Vergne (DS Techeetah), crossing the finish line less than half a second ahead of the Frenchman. Jerome d’Ambrosio reached the third podium spot in his first race with Mahindra Racing.

Mitch Evans (Jaguar) and Andre Lotteret (DS Techeetah) completed the top 5. The other point-scorers are Sebastien Buemi and Oliver Rowland (both Nissan e.dams), Daniel abt and Lucas di Grassi (both Audi Sport Abt Schaeffler) and Nelson Piquet Jr. (Jaguar).
