Leclerc comfortably wins F2 Sprint Race at Silverstone

The Prema Racing driver Charles Leclerc won the FIA Formula 2 Championship Sprint Race at Silverstone and strengthened his lead in the standings.

For the sixth consecutive time this year Charles Leclerc started from the pole position in the Feature Race. However, the start of the race was aborted and another formation lap was driven after Nyck De Vries, Alexander Albon, and Callum Ilott signaled issues. When the race has finally started, Leclerc kept the lead while Norman Nato took P2 from Oliver Rowland.

Leclerc is on the way of clinching the F2 title early in the season

The championship leader quickly built a big advantage before pitting on lap 7 and returned to the top on lap 21 when all drivers completed the mandatory pit stop. The Monegasque driver had 6-seconds advantage to Nato. In the last 7 laps Leclerc drove comfortably and scored a fifth win of the season. Norman Nato finished 2nd while Oliver Rowland finished 3rd to keep the second position in the Championship.
