Ferrari Challenge Europe at Monza - Day 2 report
Daniele Di Amato and Martin Nelson scored double victories in the second round of the Ferrari Challenge Europe at Monza Circuit.
Trofeo Pirelli
Daniele Di Amato again was the fastest in the Trofeo Pirelli race. Just like in the first race of the weekend, the CDP driver started from pole position and was absolutely dominant in the race. Philipp Baron finished 2nd in the race while Fabio Leimer had to settle for the 3rd position.
In the Trofeo Pirelli-AM class, Martin Nelson was the fortune favorite. Swedish driver overtook Jens Liebhauser in the very final moments and grabbed another victory after the German’s Ferrari ran out of fuel. Tommaso Rocca finished 2nd and Liebhauser was lucky enough to finish 3rd.
Coppa Shell
Pole sitter Fons Scheltema led in the opening stage of the race but then the safety car was deployed. Henry Hassid took the lead after the race was restarted and scored his maiden victory in front of Scheltema and Christoph Hurni.
The Ladies’ Cup went to Deborah Mayer in one of the greatest performance of her Challenge career so far.
