The winners of the 3 hours of Monza are Mirko Bortolotti, Andrea Caldarelli and Christian Engelhart, who lapped 92 times around iconic Italian race track.
The #50 AF Corse Ferrari 488 GT3, which started from pole, finished in the second place half a minute behind a winner, driven by Alessandro Pier Guidi, Michele Rugolo and Pasin Lathouras. They took the second place with six minutes yet on the clock when Clemens Schmid had to stop the #75 ISR Racing’s Audi R8 LMS when running in the P2. The third podium spot went to HTP Motorsport’s crew in the #84 Mercedes-AMG GT3 – Maxi Buhk, Franck Perera and Jimmy Eriksson.
The winners of the Pro-Am class, and 8th overall, are Jonny Adam and Ahmad Al-Harthy in the #97 Oman Racing Team Aston Martin. They beat Kessel Racing’s Ferrari 488 GT3 of Andrea Rizzoli, Matteo Cressoni and Michel Broniszewski. Spirit of Race #53 Ferrari is third in the Pro-Am class. The Am class winners are Davide Rizzo, Abigail Eaton and Alex Demirdjian in the #961 AF Corse Ferrari.
The race, in which 50 cars were on the starting grid, was marked by a big pile-up on the start-finish line shortly after the green lights were on. Twelve cars were involved, including the #19 GRT Lamborghini which started from P2. The accident was initiated when #19 Lamborghini touched the #7 Bentley and then spun. The race was red-flagged for twenty minutes before restarting.
