Farnbacher's Lexus scores maiden VLN victory at Nordschleife
The Farnbacher Racing team achieved the historic success for Lexus, scoring the first ever victory for Japanese manufacturer in the VLN Endurance Series. Mario and Dominik Farnbacher has won the DMV 250-Meilen race at 24.369-km long combination of Sprint course and Nürburgring Nordschleife with #552 Lexus RC-F GT Prototype.
After four hours of racing and 28 laps around the Green Hell, Farnbachers crossed the finish line with 33.5sec advantage over Alexander Sims and Stef Dusseldorp in the #23 BMW M6 GT3 of Rowe Racing. Christopher Mies and Connor De Phillippi finished third in the #28 Audi R8 LMS from Montaplast by Land-Motorsport.
The race was undergoing in the mixed conditions of wet and dry track. In the qualifying session, under the rain, Norbert Siedler took the pole in the Frikadelli Racing’s Porsche 911 GT3 R. In the race, he and Patrick Huisman finished in seventh place.
The season’s finale of the VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring will take place on October 22 with the 41st edition of the 4-hour DMV Münsterlandpokal.
