Super Formula race at Okayama stopped due to bad weather
The second race of the 2016 Japanese Super Formula Championship at Okayama International Circuit was stopped early, after just eight laps, due to bad weather conditions. Because the number of laps was far from 75 percent needed to award full points, the top 8 drivers earned only half of the points.
Hiroaki Ishiura was the poleman ahead of Joao Paulo de Oliveira. The Brazilian driver had a steering problems on his #19 Team Impul Toyota and retired after five laps. His misfortune moved two Real Racing drivers, Koudai Tsukakoshi and Takuya Izawa, to the second and third place.
The other point scorers are Tomoki Nojiri, Naoki Yamamoto, Yuji Kunimoto and Daisuke Nakajima. The last half of the point went to Andre Lotterer, who started 12th and managed to progress few positions through the field.
