Will Power leads Team Penske's 1-2 on the streets of Toronto
Will Power (Team Penske) scores his third victory of the season today at the streets of Toronto. Power’s win in the Honda Indy Toronto race is his 28th career triumph and his third win in Toronto (after 2007 and 2010). It was also Power’s third victory in the last four races, so he moved up to the second place in the championship standings, behing Simon Pagenaud, who finished ninth today.
Toronto’s podium was completed by Helio Castroneves (Team Penske) and Canadian hero James Hinchcliffe (Schmidt Peterson Motorsports). Tony Kanaan (Chip Ganassi Racing) finished fourth, ahead of Takuma Sato (AJ Foyt Enterprises), who made the biggest progress during the 85-lap race. Sato started from 20th position on the grid.
Scott Dixon, who was fastest in the qualifying, finished eight, behind Mikhail Aleshin and Sebastien Bourdais. Josef Newgarden, who was second in the championship points before the race, crashed out on lap 58.
