Kessel Racing wins Gulf 12 Hours
Kessel Racing is the winning team at Gulf 12 Hours race at Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina Circuit for the second year in a row. The victorious #11 Ferrari 488 GT3 was driven by Michal Broniszewski, Giacomo Piccini and Davide Rigon.
Starting from pole position, the #11 Ferrari rounded 303 laps around Abu Dhabi’s Grand Prix circuit during twelve hours of racing, finishing 1 minute 19 seconds ahead of local team Dragon Racing with the #88 Ferrari 488 GT3. The drivers in that car were Matt Griffin, Nic Minassian and Rob Barff. The podium was completed by trio in the #16 Renault RS01 of GP Extreme team – Jordan Grogor, Nicky Pastorelli and Stuart Hall.
Prototypes participated for the first time
Fourth overall and the best in Pro Am class was AF Corse team in the #51 Ferrari 488 GT3 – Thomas Flohr, Francesco Castellacci and Andrea Rizzoli. In the GTX class, fielded with GT4 cars, Scuderia Villorba Corse took the victory with #50 Maserati MC GT4. The drivers were Patrick Zamparini, Piotr Chodzen and Antoni Chodzen.
This year’s race welcomed prototypes for the first time. There were four Ligier JS P3 prototypes on the grid. The fastest one and seventh in the overall classification, was the #5 Ligier of Graff Racing driven by Neale Muston, Gregory Taylor and James Winslow.
