GP3 Series: Albon scores fourth win of the season

Alexander Albon is the winner of the GP# Series feature race at Sepang International Circuit what is his fourth victory of the season.

The Thai driver of ART Grand Prix triumphed mainly thanks to the flying start and nice overtaking of his teammate and the championship leader Charles Leclerc who started from pole position. Albon also had the fastest lap in the race and added another two points to keep title hopes alive.

At the end, Albon was 6.3s ahead of the Arden International’s driver Jack Aitken while Leclerc finished 3rd after resisting Arjun Maini’s attacks.

Leclerc’s lead in the drivers’ standings has been cut to 24 points with Albon now his nearest challenger after Antonio Fuoco finished in P8 after a spin at Turn 4. The Italian is 39 points behind Leclerc but he will start from pole position in the main race on Sunday.
