Ferrari Challenge: Exciting first day at Homestead-Miami

Daniel Mancinelli, Steve Johnson, and Matt Keegan were the fastest in the first races of Ferrari Challenge North America penultimate round at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Trofeo Pirelli

The guest drivers were the starts of the day in Trofeo Pirelli class. Italian driver Daniel Mancinelli, who acted as a substitute for injured Gregory Romanelli, won the race ahead of two Ferrari of the Beverly Hills drivers – Cooper MacNeil, and the fresh Pirelli World Challenge GTA champion Martin Fuentes. Carlos Eduardo Kauffmann finished 5th what was enough to keep lead in the overall standings.

Trofeo Pirelli – AM

The Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale driver Steve Johnson won the race in AM class after being faster than the championship leader James Weiland. Arthur Romanelli of The Collection completed the podium finishing third.

Coppa Shell

In the final event of the first day, the Ferrari of San Francisco driver Matt Keegan scored his third win of the season. Karl Williams (Ferrari of Beverly Hills) had to settle for the second position after tight battle with Keegan while Jean-Claude Saada took the third place. Joe Courtney finished sixth what was enough to stay at the top of overall standings in Coppa Shell class.
