At first, it looked that Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 is sure winner since it was fastest during Bronze test, practice and qualifying sessions. Pro-Am driver Norbert Siedler put his Ferrari (Rinaldi Racing Team) on pole position and Pierre Kaffer’s 458 Italia GT3 (Black Pearl Racing) was beside him. The Lamborghini Huracan was close behind. After a faultless start and just a few laps, Lamborghini of Fabio Babini, Andrew Palmer and Jeroen Mul got into the first place which it kept through-out the race. The winning Lamborghini team finished 37 seconds in front of the Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 driven by Rinat Salikhov and Norbert Siedler which shows the potential of new Lamborghini GT3 racer. The third was the Belgian Audi Club Team WRT with new Audi R8 LMS Ultra. The Monza track is very fast one, with long straights which was suited for Ferrari at first but the constant speed and advanced aerodynamics helped the new Lamborghini and new Audi to score podium finishes in its first real race outing of the season. The Ferrari fans are sure disappointed with their favorite not winning the race at Monza after such dominance at practice and qualifying sessions. However, Ferrari didn’t embarrassed itself since the second place is still a great success and proves that 458 Italia GT3 still has a lot of potential even if it is not the newest car on the grid.
