12h Zandvoort: Overnight lead for RAM Racing
British team RAM Racing is the leader after first quarter of 12h Zandvoort race at famous Grand Prix Circuit at Netherlands. Endurance race, which is part of 24h Series, is divided in two parts – 3 hours on Friday afternoon and 9 hours on Saturday.
After three hours of racing and 84 laps under rainy conditions #30 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 of RAM Racing is leading with 1.24 minutes gap over #2 SLS of HP Racing. Drivers of British team are Tom Onslow-Cole, Paul White and Thomas Jaeger, while Austrian team HP Racing has four drivers: Bernd Schneider, Hari Proczyk, Carsten Tilke and Reinhold Renger.
In the same lap as leading car are #10 SLS of Hofor Racing and #67 Mercedes of GDL Racing, while #7 Porsche 997 GT3 R of HB Racing Team Herberth made one lap less. Scuderia Praha’s Ferrari 458 is sixth placed with 82 laps.
After six GT3s cars there are three Porsche of 997 class in the overall standings. The best are Dutch-American crew of MRS GT-Racing: Xavier Maassen, Charles Putman and Charles Espenlaub. Second placed is #62 Porsche of Lorient Racing, in front of #52 of MSG Motorsport.
Racing will resumes Saturday morning at 08:43 with the finish at 17:43 CET. Part 2 will start with each car’s lap totals intact but with the margins erased. This means that the top four teams will continue where they left off, side-by-side and nose-to-tail.
