Lamborghini Huracan LP620-2 Super Trofeo - A Freaking Race Car
The Lamborghini Huracan LP620-2 Super Trofeo is a race car used in the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Series since 2015.
New Lamborghini was lighter but more powerful
The LP620-2 was unveiled at Vallelunga Circuit in summer of 2014 to become a benchmark in the race series, replacing the Gallardo Super Trofeo model. At the first glance, the Lamborghini Huracan LP620-2 looks predatory with a touch of elegance. The main characteristic of this car is that it is very light – only 1.270 kg – thanks to its carbon fiber and aluminum construction. It is heavier than its FIA-regulated GT3 counterpart, but it’s also more powerful, and also it is around 260 kg lighter than the road model. The roll cage of just 43 kg is exceptionally light. It has an impressive torsional stiffness that represents a massive 45% improvement compared to the previous model. When it comes to the looks, Huracan is difficult to tell apart from his brother Aventador. Lamborghini made them so close and similar in many ways, so watch out and guess which one is it the next time you spot one of them on the racing track
Developed in cooperation with Dallara
The bodywork is made of composite materials and along with aerodynamics has been developed and improved in cooperation with Dallara Engineering. Aerodynamics have been refined for better drag efficiency and balance, maximum traction and downforce in any track conditions. A rear wing has ten different settings while the front air intake ducts are adjustable. The V10 engine is the same as the mounted on the road model and delivers a maximum power output of 620 bhp with an excellent weight/power ratio.
Each detail is set perfectly
A gearbox is developed specifically for the Huracan Super Trofeo with an electric actuator designed by the Magneti Marelli Motorsport division. Electronics is also significantly improved while the special features are the traction control and ABS that features 12 different settings that can be started directly on the steering wheel for ideal set-up in any track and weather conditions. The Lamborghini Huracan LP620-2 Super Trofeo is equipped exclusively with Pirelli tires. The Italian manufacturer was involved in the construction process of the new car since the first day to create tires that will perfectly match the Lamborghini’s specific characteristics.
The price of Lamborghini Huracan LP620-2 Super Trofeo is $325.000 and many racers probably will tell you that this supercar absolutely worth so much.
